We had an impromptu trip to the NE coast 8th to 15th January. For the first 4 days the weather was freezing – much too cold for stopping and sketching but compared to the rest of the country there wasn’t as much snow.
Cold and sunny is invigorating. We managed two lunches at one of our favourite pubs – The Ship Inn, Low Newton-by-the-Sea

Later in the week the temperatures recovered, and I was able to spend a happy 2 hours painting in the sand dunes on the beach just north of the castle.
Not much else by way of art to relate so I am just making my sketch the featured image.
